This method is a combination of the chemical and physical concepts to remove various levels of impurities and the salt deposits from the water. The most primary thing that would be required for this method would be a semipermeable membrane, which can remove the larger and easily separable impurities from the water. The next level of purification is done through the pressure technique. For this process, the impure water is taken in a particular chamber connected to another vacant chamber, with the membrane being placed between the two chambers. Once the membrane and the vacant chambers are closed, a high pressure is applied to the impure water using the colligative property. This pressure has both chemical and thermodynamic properties in them, which can be helpful for removing the impurities. The pressure in the impure side must be made constant, so that the water from the pure level doesn’t come back to the impure side. The pressure technique to allow the solute to move from the low pressure side (consisting of impure water) to the high pressure side (pure water) is known as osmosis method, while the pressure exerted to prevent the flow of pure water back to the low pressure area is known as reverse osmosis.
